Friday Five.

one// I'm sure you've all seen this, but I couldn't help but watch it several times and then make my friend Alyssa watch it when she came over. You go, girl.

two// I was so happy to see that Malcolm Gladwell has a new book out! Reading his book Outliers was really a turning point for me in helping me realize that I happen to LOVE nonfiction. The great thing about stuff he writes is you can prattle on endlessly to your friends about anecdotes and statistics that are just so fascinating. If that makes me a nerd, then so be it.

three// I thought this was hilarious. Thank you, facebook.

four// This was a great article on Slate about why parents should talk to their young kids. Working in-home with families, I have come to realize that it is not intuitive or easy for parents to chit-chat with their little ones. But it is at the very top of my "Things I Will Do When I Am a Parent" list. I loved when the interviewee mentioned how big a change the program's curriculum changed her thoughts about directives...you should read it.

five// I really liked this girl's thoughts about why Mormons (and everyone) should be respectful of differing opinions. There is a big stir going on in the Mormon world surrounding a movement of women asking to be ordained to the Priesthood, and I thought this was a good reminder that people's struggles/questions/doubts are their own and that others shouldn't belittle or challenge them in a hateful way. Let's be Christians, was the take-home message for me.

I am so pumped for this weekend--there are so many good things coming up. General Conference is this Saturday and Sunday, and we've got a stellar road trip planned for Fall Break on Monday and Tuesday. Life is good, good, good.

Happy Friday to you!
